Saturday
July 2nd is shaping up to be a fun filled day for the Fennville
Community.
The day kicks off with the
Farmers Market at 8:00am until 1:00pm at the corner of South Maple and West
Fennville Streets. “The local produce
got a late start to the growing season, but is really picking up”, says market
master Rich Klingenberg. Klingenberg
adds, we are gaining vendors weekly.
The July 4th
parade will begin at 11:00am. It will
begin at the elementary school parking lot and then to M-89 to Park Street,
finishing at Paradise Park. “After the
parade, Fennville native, Patty Birkholz will be honored for her years of
service” says Fennville Mayor Dan Rastall.
Then a birthday celebration where hot dogs, cake, chips and ice cream
will be served as Fennville celebrates 50 years as a city.
At 2:00pm, the City of
Fennville will be sponsoring a charity softball game featuring some community
leaders versus some of our young people.
All proceeds will be donated to the Wes Leonard Heart Foundation.
The Children’s Museum of
Fennville will be celebrating the Fourth with new exhibits, crafts, games,
activities, and much more. Bring your
bicycle or wagon and decorate it for the celebration. The events, visit www.fennville.com. event will begin at
11:00 until 2:00pm. Admission is $3.50
each. Kids under 1 and members are FREE.
The Fennville Arts Movement
is hosting a multi location event. “Acoustical
Social is a musical event taking place at 4 Fennville Restaurants” said event
co-coordinator Casey Boeve. The music
will begin at Noon and run until 8:00pm and will offer a variety of music.
The social kicks off at
Hot Shots above Su Casa with “Riversong.”
Riversong will play from 12:00pm until 1:45pm. The next stop is Steven’s Hotel for a yet to
be named group that will play from 2:00pm-3:45pm. Salt of the Earth will host ‘Red Tail Ring’
from 4:00pm until 5:45pm. A visit to
Fennville’s newest restaurant, “The Fennville Station”, will host “Ronnie Hock”
from 6:00pm-7:45pm.
There will be no cover
charge at any of the venues.
